Macbeth film

Costume, Setting and Sound
  • It is set as if in a WW1/WW2 setting, very chaotic.
  • Different to what you would think a slightly modern version.
  • Their costumes, no matter who or what are covered in blood.
  • The sound has a clear stutter, unsure on what may happen next; there is a slight resemblance to to that of a heart beat.
  • Sound is all building up to a crux, it all seems to follow on.
  • Soviet uniforms.
  • Even the kitchen is grime.
  • Dark and grime, isolated place.

Presentation of characters:

Witches:
  • They have a very suspicious and melancholy feel.
  • Their faces are cold, their voices have been echoed. Walking un unison creates an atmosphere of confusion.
  • Murder and betrayal are prominent.
  • Always in the background, lurking on the vulnerable.
Macbeth:
  • Selfish, wants no more about his own prosperity.
  • Confused and startled.
  • Never eliminates the prominent, horrid, 'fantastical' idea of murder.
  • He has begun to hate, the only person to scour at the news of the new prince.
  • Sound is very high pitch; resembling confusion, chaos and confusion.
  • Still questioning whether he should do this un noble deed.
Banquo:
  • Is very noble, and loyal.
  • Questioning anything sounding false.
  • Cautiously intrigued.
  • Doesn't want to know, rejection towards them.
King:
  • Loyal to his noblest warriors.
  • Happy, for now.
Lady Macbeth:
  • Her voice is very suspicious and slightly subdued.
  • Scared.
  • Loyal to husband, yet incredibly greedy.
  • Darkened by greed.
